About us

EcoClimate Vision is an international non-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness and promoting climate change information worldwide, with a special focus on the Global South. Our mission is to bridge the knowledge gap by sourcing and translating climate change information into various languages across all countries in the Global South. By doing so, we aim to empower individuals and communities with the necessary knowledge and tools to combat and adapt to the challenges posed by climate change.

Collaboration lies at the heart of our approach. We actively seek partnerships with governments, businesses, and civil society organizations to collectively address the challenges of climate change worldwide, especially the Global South. By fostering these collaborations, we aim to initiate and implement climate change mitigation and adaptation projects that have a tangible impact on the people and our planet. Through capacity building, training programs, and awareness campaigns, we strive to empower local stakeholders to become agents of change within their communities and beyond.

At EcoClimate Vision, we firmly believe that access to accurate and localized climate information is a fundamental right for all, regardless of their geographical location or socio-economic background. By disseminating climate change information in different languages, we strive to ensure that no one is left behind in the fight against climate change. Our dedicated team of representative and volunteers work  diligently to provide comprehensive and accessible resources, enabling individuals and communities to make informed decisions and take proactive steps towards climate resilience.

Climate Information Translation

We work tirelessly to source climate change information from reputable sources and translate it into various languages spoken across the Global South. By providing localized cultural sensitive content, we ensure that individuals can access climate information in a language they understand, fostering greater awareness and engagement. 

Policy Advocacy

EcoClimate Vision actively engages with policymakers and advocates for climate change policies that prioritize the needs and vulnerabilities of the Global South. By amplifying the voices of affected communities, we strive to influence policy decisions and promote sustainable and inclusive approaches to climate action.

Climate Change Mitigation & Resilience Projects

We collaborate with governments, businesses, and civil society organizations to design and implement climate change mitigation and adaptation projects. These projects encompass a range of activities, such as reforestation, renewable energy initiatives, sustainable agriculture practices or climate-smart agriculture, and community-based disaster risk reduction measures.

Bernard Birikorang

Chief Executive Officer(CEO)

Bernard Birikorang is a Global Climate Champion and the Co-founder and CEO of EcoClimate Vision. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental and Safety Engineering from the University of Mines and Technology. Serving as the past President of Enactus UMaT with a comprehensive experience in Non-Profit Management, he has an unwavering passion for environmental sustainability. When not leading initiatives, he can be found hanging out or engaging in mentally stimulating conversations with his friends, team, and mentors. He likes music, research, golfing, volunteering, and movies.

George Birikorang

Director of Innovation

George Birikorang is the Director of Innovation at EcoClimate Vision and a current student at Stanford University studying computer science and Energy Resources Engineering. He aspires to use technology, AI and other tools of the century to solve some of the problems related to sustainability and climate change. George is an avid football player and loves to run track as well. He has a deep interest in learning about different cultures and perspectives, so you’ll often catch him traveling around and immersing himself into the cultures he comes across. He is super excited to be on this team to help people all over the world irrespective of their carbon footprint contribute their quota to help fight climate change and all its harmful effects on the Global South.

John Adjah

Director of Media and Design

John Adjah is the Director of Media and Design at EcoClimate Vision, armed with a Master’s Degree in Visual Communication from Hanbat National University, South Korea. Simultaneously, John serves as an assistant research scientist and designer in the Printing and Publishing Division at the CSIR-Institute of Scientific and Technological Information, where he applies his skills to elevate visual communication and related domains. John harbors a keen interest in climate change concerns and is enthusiastic about forging impactful collaborations with EcoClimate Vision.

Bonface Okwero

Director of Research

Bonface Okwero is the Director of Research at EcoClimate Vision. He holds a degree in Engineering (Renewable Energy Technology and Management). He is passionate about applying engineering research to tackle pressing global issues such as climate change, environmental sustainability, and effective waste management, all with the aim of fostering sustainable community livelihoods in alignment with the SDGs. Bonface is deeply committed to sustainable community development initiatives, emphasizing teamwork, practical innovation, and instilling core values among stakeholders. His track record includes the successful training, empowerment, and leadership of diverse teams, particularly focusing on youth and women, in community programs dedicated to combating climate change, reducing carbon emissions, and promoting sustainable waste management.

Esha Shahid

Deputy Country Representatives and Volunteers Director for Asia

Esha Shahid is the Deputy Country Representatives and Volunteers Director for Asia at EcoClimate Vision and a student of Public Health Nutrition at Dow University of Health Sciences, Karachi. With a profound commitment to environmental advocacy and public health, she is dedicated to leveraging her expertise to address pressing issues related to climate change and nutrition.  In her leisure time, she enjoys gardening and reading

Claire Lokeris Pedo

Deputy Director of Research

Pedo Lokeris Claire is the Deputy Director of Research at EcoClimate Vision. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Natural Resource Economics from Busitema University. She believes in the power of research as a tool to build resilience against the Climate Crisis.
She is passionate about Climate Leadership and working with communities to implement activities that drive towards environmental conservation and sustainability.

Getrude Esi Acquah

Co-Founder & COO

Gertrude Acquah is the Co-founder and COO of EcoClimate Vision. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Minerals Engineering and is currently a Ph.D. candidate at the University of Mines and Technology, Tarkwa, and the University of South Australia, Australia respectively.
She is an Eco-Hero and  young passionate lady who desires to cause a positive change in society and bring hope to the less vulnerable in society. In the last few years as the past president of Enactus, UMaT, she led the team to undertake sustainable eco-friendly projects which thrived so well. Her leisurely activities include swimming, driving, volunteering, and hanging out with friends.

Testimony Atsu

Director of Technology

Testimony Atsu is the Director of Technology at EcoClimate Vision and a current student at the University of Mines and Technology, Tarkwa studying computer science and engineering. He believes computer science could be used to curb some environmental problems. He has a deep interest in web technologies and is also a web developer. He is very excited about this opportunity to learn and make a significant impact in the fight against climate change in the global south. His leisurely activities include gaming and he is also a fitness enthusiast.  

Poshia Musesya

Director of Communication

Poshia Syindu Musesya serves as the Director of Communications at EcoClimate Vision. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Communication from Daystar University in Kenya and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree at Aga Khan University. Poshia is a dynamic and accomplished communications professional with over a decade of industry experience. Her career has spanned critical sectors such as energy, transport, health, climate action, youth advocacy, media, and technology. This extensive and varied portfolio has honed her expertise in knowledge sharing, event management, brand strategy, and proactive media engagement. Her academic background and professional experience make her a versatile and knowledgeable asset in the field of communications. Beyond her professional achievements, Poshia enjoys dancing, cooking, and writing, which reflect her creative and multifaceted personality.

Abie Sanneh

Country Representatives and Volunteers Director

Abie Sanneh Serves as the Country Representatives and Volunteers Director at Ecoclimate Vision. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science from the University of The Gambia, and a Graduate Student MSC in International Relations and Diplomacy. She also serves as the Vice President for the School of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences at the University of the Gambia along with a professional Certificate in Action for Climate Environment from UNFCCC- ACE and Climate Negotiators Academy Program as a Youth Negotiator on climate change. Global youth advocate on climate change, actively engaging in international discussions and initiatives to address environmental challenges serving as a focal point for different international Climate Organization and working Group members of YOUNGO ACE and Women and Gender. Her focus revolves around raising awareness on climate change and sustainability, Dedicated to promoting sustainable practices, advocating for climate action, and fostering international cooperation to combat climate change. She’s Recognized for leadership in youth advocacy, contributing to shaping policies and raising awareness on environmental issues at a global level.

Dinah Awino Kawino

Director of Grants, Development and Partnership

Dinah Awino Kawino is the Director of Grants, Development Partnerships  at EcoClimate Vision. A postgraduate from Kenyatta University, Kenya, she holds a BSc. in Environmental Education Science and an MA in Environmental Studies and Community Development. With a strong background in social science and environmental advocacy, Dinah is deeply committed to community empowerment. Her expertise spans a range of environmental projects including resource mobilization, green economy initiatives, sustainability efforts, geoscience for sustainable development, green transition projects, and circularity programs. She is dedicated to forging value-driven partnerships that pave the way for a sustainable future. Dinah finds joy in reading, blogging, and exploring new destinations.

Gabriel Terkpeh

Director of Finance

Gabriel Terkpeh is the Director of Finance at EcoClimate Vision. He holds a BSc in Accounting from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Ghana and an MSc in International Accounting & Finance from Buckinghamshire New University, England. Gabriel is an accomplished professional with over a decade of experience and extensive expertise in Accounting, Finance, donor fund management, risk assessment, mitigation, and strategic decision-making. His career spans various sectors and industries, demonstrating a robust ability to adapt and excel in diverse environments. Beyond his corporate responsibilities, Gabriel contributes to academia as an Adjunct Lecturer, nurturing the next generation of financial leaders.  As Gabriel continues to enhance financial performance and operational excellence at EcoClimate Vision, he remains committed to delivering impactful solutions and promoting sustainable growth in the dynamic field of finance and management.

Climate Policy, Human and Environmental Rights defender and Advocacy Expert

Sithandweyinkosi Nkomo serves as the Chairperson of the Advisory Board, an Environmental rights specialist & climate activist with a passion for sustainable development. She has an MSc in (Dev. Science) focused on environmental management & currently pursuing PhD in Natural Resource Management/Governance. She has expertise in child rights, human rights, & climate-smart livelihoods. Leading environmental, climate & multi-stakeholder partnership projects in Southern Africa for Tdh Germany.

Pat van de Loosdrecht

Climate, Energy, CSR, Partnerships and Sustainability Expert

Pat van de Loosdrecht is a seasoned and versatile business leader with a passion for driving sustainability and innovation. A chemical engineer with a MBA and a Certified Director of the Institute of Directors South Africa with over 25 years of experience in the energy sector, she holds several Board Advisor positions to organisations in the industry.
Her deep understanding of the energy sector and enhanced strategic stakeholder relations stems from her international business and technical experience, having worked in Africa, Europe, North America, Middle East and Asia.
Contributing to a sustainable, resilient and inclusive society of tomorrow drives her passion for Energy and Sustainability and her tenacity to serve. She loves reading, traveling to immerse herself in different cultures, watching sport and walking.

Dr. Anuoluwapo Jolaoso

Climate, Environmental and Social Impact Management Specialist

Dr. Jolaoso is a seasoned environmentalist, educator, and researcher with a Ph.D. in Environmental Biology and over a decade of academic and industry expertise. Her career is driven by a commitment to environmental stewardship, advocating for sustainable practices, and educating future leaders in environmental sciences. She has authored 16 academic publications addressing pressing environmental challenges, served as an adjunct lecturer at Trinity University, Lagos, and as an E-tutor at the University of Lagos. Currently, she holds the position of Senior Environmental Specialist at a premier environmental consulting firm in Lagos, Nigeria.

Prince Essel

Climate Change, Waste-to-energy Access, Youth Representative, Renewable Energy and Sustainability Expert

Prince Nana Kow Essel serves as the Treasurer of the Advisory Board. He is an award-winning energy access specialist, co-founder
of Maiseville Groupe Limited and Econexus Ventures Limited, and founder of
Grandhedge International. He also works as a Renewable Energy Program Officer at the
Institute for Sustainable Energy and Environmental Solutions (ISEES) and is a Consulting
Fellow at the Waste-to-Energy Research and Technology Council (WtERT), Germany. His
roles involve spearheading renewable energy initiatives, entrepreneurship, advocating
for sustainability, and engaging in international climate change summits as a speaker
and expert.

He is a radical Environmental Activist, Aspiring Entrepreneur. International speaker and Researcher.
